Hello Miracle Family,
You might be aware of denial—but are you aware of your denial that you’re in denial? The ego is tricky. Sometimes it lures us into false positivity and calls it spirituality. It tells us to say, “I’m happy,” when we’re not. “I’m at peace,” when we’re not. “Everything is perfect,” while we’re quietly afraid, angry, or trying to control the outcome.
One common downfall of modern manifestation philosophy is the idea that we should “fake it until we make it.” But A Course in Miracles does not ask us to lie to ourselves. It asks us to come to a place of radical honesty.
If you don’t feel happy, don’t pretend you do. Tell the truth while leaving the door open for Spirit.
You might say: “It is God’s Will for me to be happy, even if I don’t feel that right now.” “I don’t feel peaceful yet, but I know peace is God’s Will for me.” “I am watching for today’s miracles.” “I am willing to receive the blessings already promised to me.”
That is very different from pretending. That is honesty joined with willingness. Lesson 165 gives us the reminder: “Let not my mind deny the thought of God.” Or, if it helps you receive it more easily: “Let not my mind deny the thought of Love.” This Week’s PracticeCatch the automatic statement. Notice when you say, “I’m fine,” “I’m happy,” or “Everything is great,” and you don’t believe it. Tell the truth. Say, “I’m not feeling peaceful right now.” Leave room for Spirit. Say, “But I know peace is God’s Will for me.” Repeat the lesson. “Let not my mind deny the thought of Love.”
This week’s teaching, “What Is Love? How Denying God Blocks Your Experience | A Course in Miracles Lesson 165,” explores how we unknowingly block the Love that has never left us.
Love, Earl
