Hello Miracle Family,
There is a part of the mind that hates your freaking guts. That may sound funny, but you know exactly what that voice sounds like.
It says you are:
not successful enough
not spiritual enough
not attractive enough
not productive enough
not far enough along
It always finds another reason to convince you that you are falling short.
But that voice is not your real voice. It is the voice of the ego—the part of the mind that survives by keeping you convinced you have never done enough and never will.
Have you noticed that it never celebrates your progress? You can spend years healing, forgiving, and growing, and the ego will still whisper, “Yes…but look at everything that is still wrong.”
That little word “but” has a way of keeping you imprisoned:
“I would be happy, but…”
“I would trust God, but…”
“I would know peace, but…”
“I would love myself, but…”
Lesson 139 reminds us that atonement is the correction of error. It is the undoing of fear. It is the acceptance of your innocence.
So here is the question:
What if the voice criticizing you is not telling the truth?
What if the part of you that believes you are guilty, lacking, or unworthy is not your real Self at all?
You do not have to fight that voice. You do not have to convince it. You do not have to win an argument with it.
You simply have to stop making it your authority.
The next time that inner critic starts telling you everything that is wrong with you, pause and choose another Voice—the Voice that has never condemned you, never doubted your worth, and has been patiently reminding you all along:
You are completely loved.
You are completely innocent.
And nothing real about you has ever been lost.
