Hello Miracle Family,
Are you stuck in a Cinderella story… even if you’re a man?
Most people think a Cinderella story is about a girl, a slipper, and a prince.
It isn’t.
A Cinderella story is the belief that something outside you is going to arrive, recognize your worth, and rescue you from the life you have been enduring.
The prince may be a relationship. It may be money. It may be a healed body. It may be the apology, the job, the breakthrough, or the one perfect circumstance that finally makes everything okay.
But the thought underneath is always the same:
“When this arrives, then I’ll be okay.”
That is magic.
Not rabbit-out-of-a-hat magic. Not fairy dust. Not stage tricks.
The kind of magic A Course in Miracles is talking about is the belief that peace comes from a change in form. It is the belief that something outside your mind must change before you can be free.
Magic says:
“When they choose me, then I’ll be okay.”
“When the money comes, then I’ll relax.”
“When my body feels better, then I’ll have peace.”
“When they finally apologize, then I can let this go.”
“When life stops being so hard, then I can be happy.”
A miracle moves in the opposite direction.
A miracle is an act of Love guided through clear perception. It is the correction in the mind that lets you see differently. The miracle is not the prince arriving. The miracle is recognizing that you gave the prince a job that belongs to God.
Magic tries to change the form first.
Miracles heal the perception first.
Magic says, “If this changes, then I’ll have peace.”
The miracle asks, “What if peace is available before this changes?”
That is what this week’s video, I Am Under No Laws But God’s: Freedom from the Ego’s Laws | Workbook Lesson 76 | Earl Purdy, takes deeper. Lesson 76 is not asking you to deny the world. It is asking you to stop making the world your source.
The bill may still need to be paid. The body may still need care. The relationship may still need honesty. The support may still be helpful.
But none of those forms gets to decide whether Love is present.
So look gently, but honestly:
Where are you still waiting to be rescued?
Where have you dressed up fear and called it hope?
Where are you postponing peace until something outside you proves you are worthy of it?
Rewrite the Magic into a Miracle
This week, write one magical thought in this form:
“I am waiting for ________ to save me from ________.”
Then rewrite it as a miracle-minded thought:
“I am willing to stop making ________ my savior. I am willing to let Love correct my perception and show me the peace available here.”
That is how you step out of the Cinderella story: not by waiting for rescue, but by allowing Love to teach you how to see.
Love,
Earl
