How do you navigate the storms in your mind? That’s the question at the heart of A Course in Miracles Lesson 69. The Course teaches that grievances are like clouds. They seem to block the light, but they do not stop it. The storm you feel is not coming from the world itself, but from the thoughts you keep returning to and holding in place.
When you hold a grievance, you are focusing on the cloud instead of the light behind it. And the more you focus on it, the more real and overwhelming it appears. So the way through the storm is not to fight it or fix it. It is to recognize it for what it is. A cloud passing through your awareness.
As you go through your day, remind yourself, “My grievances hide the light of the world in me.” Let that thought gently shift your focus.
The light has not gone anywhere. You are simply learning to look past the clouds.
This community is where you practice seeing past the clouds, even as the world reflects fear, conflict, and separation. You are learning that there is no real payoff in holding onto grievances, and together you are choosing a different way by noticing what you keep returning to and allowing yourself to see it differently. This is how you begin to move through the storm instead of staying in it. If you are not yet a member, consider joining us. Your annual membership includes live gatherings, weekly Study Guide Journals, unlisted ACIM playlists, the Language of Love Glossary, and exclusive workshops, all designed to support you in applying the Course and experiencing more peace now.
