Subject: The World Meets "DriverX"!

Dear DriverXers,

The DriverX world premiere is in the books! We screened the film to a full house in Tacoma, WA at the awesome Tacoma Film Festival last Wednesday.  We couldn't have asked for a better response--laughter throughout and a lively Q&A!  Although Patrick couldn't make it (he booked a recurring part on Code Black), we were well represented with writer/director Henry Barrial, cinematographer Daniel Lynn, and myself. Actually, Patrick was there in spirit--he sent a video welcome to the Tacoma audience and we played it back to them in the Q&A.

Yes, Tacoma is this beautiful!
We also had a number of surprise guests make the screening. Two of our biggest Kickstarter backers were there (Alan Espasandin & Dan Knight)--both making long trips to be a part of the night; my friend Dan Myrick (co-director of The Blair Witch Project) and his wife; Bay Area filmmaker Mark Schwab; and several friends of lead actress Tanya Clarke. These out-of-towners were treated to typical Tacoma hospitality. What a beautiful place! And the people are so friendly. The festival is run by a core of dedicated indie film lovers who make all the filmmakers feel right at home. I stayed with two "hosts"--friends of the festival who offered rooms in their homes to starving filmmakers--and they really rolled out the red carpet.

We were lucky to have a reviewer in the audience and we snagged this terrific review! We're hoping to pick up a few more of these as we head across the country.

We don't have a trailer yet and festivals were asking for footage for their websites, so I pulled a clip from the film. I'm always a little hesitant to show something out of context, but check it out and let me know what you think. This is one of Leonard's rides at around the middle of the film--the dangers of transporting drunk Millennials late at night in Venice, CA...
