Hi Friend! Happy New Year to you!! May 2015 be a deeply nourishing and liberating year for all of us, a year in which we can both stretch into our fullness and relax into who we truly are! [Full disclosure: Some of this enewsletter is being "channeled" by my friend, client and marketing sherpa Keren, while I am travelling and indulging in some extreme self care this week. I was in the middle of preparing this, the day before my trip, when my dog suddenly got quite sick (I think he tried to eat something toxic - his face and eyes were badly swollen - thankfully he's well on the mend now) and my attentions got diverted.] Please note that because I am away, my classes will resume for the New Year on Monday, January 12th. However, the studio is open for other classes this week led by our fabulous community teachers (more on this below). As you will see as you read on, there are a lot of changes in the air, both for me and in the studio. Our newsletter has a new, fresher look and feel, reflecting our lovely new website, which we launched in October -- if it's been a while since you've been on the site, please be sure to check it out and let me know what you think! And I'd love it if you'd share this newsletter with your friends who might be interested in exploring classes in the new year. Expanded Community Teachers and Weekly Class Schedule It has always been my vision that in addition to teaching my own classes, I would create DreamYogaDance as a community hub for events, workshops and weekly classes hosted by a variety of teachers. I am so delighted that this is manifesting in a big way now. I offer a heartfelt welcome to all our new teachers -- please check out their offerings below. More information and the full schedule New year, new focus After much reflection, I have decided that I will no longer offer my Active Yoga weekly class. I have been pouring more and more of my focus and knowledge into Restorative Yoga which offers such deep healing and releasing qualities, and this seems to best complement the healing work I am moving into more deeply with dreamwork, as well as Ecstatic Dance. I have found that the best workout for body, mind, heart and spirit is a combination of restorative yoga and ecstatic dance. For those of you who have worked with me primarily through the Active Yoga and feel called (or are just curious to explore!), I invite you to cross over this bridge with me into my other offerings. Ecstatic Dance Mondays are coming!! After more than 8 years of hosting Ecstatic Dance Thursdays in the West End of the city, I'm so excited (ecstatic actually :)) to introduce Ecstatic Dance Mondays at DreamYogaDance, beginning January 26th. This is a beautiful, invigorating and liberating practice that will speak to your soles and your soul. All are welcome - no experience required! Read more about it here. I look forward to seeing you very soon! xo ![]() ![]() Julia Ray, Studio Founder Julia's Blog - Restorative Yoga gives & gives We’re all in the same boat when it comes to stress and tension. Life pulls and pries at you. You respond to the demands and want to please everyone, but at some point just realize you have moved so far away from your centre that something has to give.Instead of taking time to review the situation, you jump back in for more. Yeah we’ve all been there. Even though we’re all superheroes working at the edge of our capacity every day, this kind of lifestyle is just not sustainable. Something has to give. And usually it does. Let it be you giving into your body as opposed to your body giving up on you. Read more Weekly Classes with Julia Ray Weekly Classes with Our Community Teachers |
