CANCELED -- Monday's Rosedale Neighborhood CodeNEXT meeting with Mayor Adler

I want to make sure you know that the CodeNEXT meeting with Mayor Adler scheduled for TONIGHT has been CANCELED due to weather and power outages at the host location. We will let you know when the Rosedale Neighborhood Association reschedules.
STILL SCHEDULED -- Jester Estates Traffic Calming Meeting

Austin Transportation Department will be meeting with residents of the Jester Estates neighborhood, as well as those living in nearby Lakewood, to discuss their efforts to address the high level of speeding on Jester Boulevard.

Tuesday, August 29th
7:00 p.m and 8:00 p.m.* at Coffee Shark
7300 Ranch Road 2222 Bldg. 5 #111

*Due to the high level of expected attendees and limited space at Coffee Shark, we have decided to hold two meetings back to back. The first will start at 7:00 p.m. and the second meeting at 8:00. If capacity does not allow you to attend the first meeting, you will be asked to return at 8:00. This choice was made to ensure that everyone has the chance to hear the information and provide their thoughts.

In the event that weather takes a turn for the worse, please check Council Member Alter's Facebook page prior to the event for updates.
Information about power outages and debris pick-up

Please report outages to (512)-322-9100, or the the Austin Energy website.

For more information about outages, see the Outage Map. You can click on the circles with numbers in them to reveal the number of outages and number of customers affected, sign up for alerts, etc.

For residents affected by the recent storm, Austin Resource Recovery, the City of Austin Department responsible for trash, recycling and yard trimmings collection, is providing services to help make clean-up easier. In order to properly dispose of storm debris and items damaged by flooding, Austin Resource Recovery will collect bulk items placed at the curb. This includes water-damaged items such as furniture or carpet. In addition, dumpsters have been placed in select areas for resident use. If dumpsters have been placed in your neighborhood, please only use them to dispose of storm debris and items damaged by flooding. Staff is monitoring the affected neighborhoods to ensure all items are collected.

Please call 3-1-1 to arrange curbside bulk pick up at your home.

How you can help

Now that Austin has seen the worst of the Harvey system, efforts at the Emergency Operations Center are shifting towards preparation of sheltering evacuees. As of noon today we are showing 656 evacuees in shelters. The City of Austin and our regional partners have received a request to shelter thousands of evacuees, and we are determining our capacity. To provide assistance, go to www.austintexas.gov/help.
