| | At Dare2Draw, we always like to do things a bit differently. ✔️
Come Dare2Draw at our first Virtual D2D ZOOM-tube event, as we Chat with film director and maverick Ralph Bakshi! |
| We really miss putting on these events for you guys and seeing you all in person, coming together to share ideas and inspiration with us.
So, here we come - we’re developing this new D2D remote format to bring you some of the D2D live event segments, using current and new technology to stay connected and help us bridge the gap in the new normal.
As we watch COVID-19 shutting down our way of life and our economy, its effects on our beloved comix industry, and the uncertainties for the future ahead, it becomes clearer that we need to start looking for new ways to get to the other side of this pandemic.
Together, we can find "The New Normal" - roll up our sleeves, like we always do, as Americans, with the can-do spirit and moxie to overcome and do better.
Ralph Bakshi will share his insights and experiences as a director, animator and iconoclastic creator. |
| | | The artistic development of Ralph Bakshi encompasses more than 70 years. He is a self-taught artist who was initially inspired by The Ashcan School, and later by the Abstract Expressionists, who saw painting as a pure expression of emotion.
New York City provided the physical and cultural environment that nurtured Bakshi's imagination and that of his contemporaries. Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock, Francis Bacon and Chiam Soutine were his strongest influences...ABOUT
“What's most important in animation is the emotions and the ideas being portrayed. I'm a great believer of energy and emotion.”
~ Ralph Bakshi
