Hi Friend,

Did you know that your book is more than just a book?

You could license your content!

And to protect if from the AI engines, you may very much want to.

In addition to that new technology, there are other more traditional ways to license your content.

Essentially, as an author you hold ALL the rights to your book until you sell then.

A traditional publisher will most likely want your First North American print and ebook rights, and often more, like your audio or foreign rights. (Not a lawyer, obvs.)

Read your contract!

As an independently published author, like I am, you hold all your rights and can license them out a bit at a time.

Things I've done:

foreign translation rights into Danish for Parisian Amour
character into film, Henrietta The Dragon Slayer, short proof-of-concept film in post-production
character into TV pilot script, Henrietta The Dragon Slayer, in pre-production (that means script writing)

Other rights I'll be exercising:

audio books
graphic novels
children's book version of my YA and adult novels

So, you see, your book isn't just a book, but can be so much more.
