Every content guru will tell you: never take a break. Stay consistent. Stick to your schedule. People will punish you if you disappear.
And yet, every summer, I take a break from my podcast (June - August). I even gain new followers when the podcast is on hiatus.
Here's the truth about consistency:
Yes, it matters. But not the way most people think.
What matters more than rigid schedules is showing up as your best self when you do show up.
And I can't do that if I'm running on empty.
Summer is busy. My boys have always had baseball. We're moving soon (after 25+ years in the same house).
If I pushed through, I'd be showing up depleted.
So I'm taking a break. Not just from the podcast, but from this newsletter too.
The newsletter will pause for a few weeks. I'll be back the week after July 4th, energized, excited, and ready to bring you something worth your time.
What about you?
Have you been pushing through when you know you need a pause? Consider this your permission slip, Friend.
Rest isn't the opposite of productivity. It's what makes real productivity possible.
See you in July.
XO,
Heather
P.S. Now is the time to catch up on Life & Law (or go back and listen to episodes you've never heard before).
