SHARE Survey Results Are In...

We met you at SHARE Dallas 2022, and you were kind enough to fill out out our conference survey. We asked you a few questions about the technologies that you use to manage your enterprise mainframes, and we got lots of interesting numbers.

Fortunately, many of you were kind enough to take a few minutes to give us some thoughtful responses, so we would like to share some of the results with you.

Without further ado...

We asked you which mainframe databases your company works with. On average, you manage 2 database technologies.

An overwhelming 78% of you are using DB2, with IMS coming in at a distant second at 35.71%. The others, IDMS, Oracle, Datacom, Adabase, and "other" came in around 10-20%.
We also asked you which mainframe software languages your organization works with.

The mainframe software languages you use are more evenly distributed with REXX coming in 73.21%, and COBOL a close second with 67.86%.
