Jobs Secure
Last week, we provided a link, way down at the bottom, to an article on Dev community that asks "the rise of no-code & low-code: are we out of a job yet?" It's a "fun" thing to ask, but our big takeaway: a resounding nope

Although it's fun to check in on the topic now and then, those of us in the trenches know the answer before reading. Many of us have had a good workout over the last year making web apps so all the remote folks can get their jobs done.

We're here to help you do it better.

We have something brand new with Lily Taharudin's CA 2E CA Plex Community lightning talk on "Implementing a Web-based Rich Text Editor with WebClient", and more.

The 12th CA 2E / CA Plex Conference, which we sponsor, still has the Conference Super Early Bird special that includes F1 racing tickets. Read more about that farther down below.

And as always, to help you leverage CM WebClient in your web application efforts, feel free to browse our tutorial articles below and on the CM First site.

Happy app-making!

Implementing a Web-based Rich Text Editor with WebClient
Lily Taharudin presented her lightning talk "Implementing a Web-based Rich Text Editor" at the CA 2E CA Plex Communities June 9th webcast:

If you are transitioning from CA Plex C++ client-server applications to CA Plex CM WebClient web applications, you will need to find replacements for your outdated ActiveX components.

In the session Lily demonstrates the implementation of a JavaScript-based Rich Text Editor component that can be used in CA Plex WebClient applications. You will get an appreciation of how a JavaScript component can be integrated into your Plex web application.

Calendar views are a must-have for many web-based applications. Normally, coding them into your app becomes a real challenge when your users are on the go and have a need for mobile-based viewing.

Create Rich Tooltips and Popups

In many Plex applications, basic screens show only “need to know” information, with a link to more detail. With CM WebClient, create handy tooltips that provide a better user experience.

Knowing When Enough is Enough in Mobile Design

As programmers have learned since the beginning of coding, it can be difficult to feel your program is ‘done.’ There’s always more tweaking you can do, but are you really making it better?

Fall Conference
Start Your Engines for the Fall Conference
As many who work with us are familiar, CM First Group is a lead sponsor of the CA 2E / CA Plex Developer's Conference, with the next conference planned for October 25-27. If pre-launch planning is any indication, this is going to be one of the best conferences yet.

Here's the kicker: the conference is taking place immediately after the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas, Oct 22-24, with the final race held on Sunday, Oct 24. Event organizers are offering a Super Early Bird Special that adds tickets to attend this event seated with your fellow developers, and a ride to and from the conference to the track. Act fast as these tickets are limited and could sell out quickly.

You can register at the link here. If you want to take advantage of the Super Early Bird Special, simply select the "F1 Early Bird" option upon checkout.
