Subject: Cinemapolis Recommends - Virtual Cinema & Home 🎥 Viewing Options - Earth Day Edition

Happy Earth Day, Cinemapolitans,

The doors may be closed, but we're still here for you with another week of NEW virtual cinema coming your way. All five of last week's titles are being held over for ONE MORE week. To that mix, we're welcoming another three titles on Friday, plus a special EARTH DAY premiere that you can watch RIGHT NOW - Eating Up Easter.

All these new movies arriving does mean that we need to make some room, however. If you haven't yet checked out Bacurau, Corpus Christi, or Once Were Brothers - hop to it! All three are only available through the end of the day tomorrow, April 23rd.

A reminder that we moved quickly and thoughtfully to launch these virtual cinema offerings, but they're new. Please be patient if there are some initial technical issues - know that we'll respond promptly. We've just added a new Frequently Asked Questions page to the website to help you navigate these uncharted cinematic waters.

As always, the full listing of all current and upcoming films can be found on our Virtual Cinema page.

NEW VIRTUAL CINEMA TITLES

Eating Up Easter
Other Music
A White, White Day
The Wild Goose Lake

VIRTUAL CINEMA:
EATING UP EASTER

Eating Up Easter

“A lush achievement… ranks among the most effective and affective movies of its kind that I have seen in the past in several years.”

-David Lipset, Oceania Journal

Presented in collaboration with the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, Eating Up Easter is available NOW for Earth Day screenings. A beautiful and important work from native Rapanui (Easter Island) filmmaker Sergio Mata’u Rapu, it explores the modern dilemma of his people as they face the consequences of their rapidly developing home. Rapu will be LIVE on instagram on 4/23, and you can send him questions here.

VIRTUAL CINEMA:
OTHER MUSIC

Other Music

“Celebrates and immortalizes the culture of the record store.”

-Variety

We're excited to present Other Music in collaboration with one of our fellow "non-essential" businesses - Angry Mom Records. This love letter to the brick-and-mortar music shopping experience chronicles the famed NYC record store that was THE place where a generation of New Yorkers at the dawn of the Internet age went to discover groundbreaking music by artists who would go on to become household names and underground icons.

VIRTUAL CINEMA:
THE WILD GOOSE LAKE

The Wild Goose Lake

"A film that doesn’t hit you like a tidal wave as much as it gradually washes over you, leaving in its wake a series of memorable set-pieces and a dense, dark web of violence and fatality.”

The wild colors and gangster violence of The Wild Goose Lake were originally set to be up on our big screens this month. Now you can click over and watch Chinese auteur Yi'nan Diao's gorgeous Palme d'Or nominee at home.

VIRTUAL CINEMA:

A WHITE, WHITE DAY

A White, White Day

"I’m convinced that A White, White Day is the work of one of the most important voices of this emerging generation, arriving at a stage where we have yet to learn his language."

Icelandic director Hlynur Palmason takes a slow-burn approach in the thrilling tale of revenge, A White, White Day. Another title that was originally set to play during the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, this won the Rising Star Award at last year's Cannes Film Festival.
