Greetings Cinemapolitans!

The Golden Globe nominations have been announced, and both of the new films coming up in the next week received nods:
  • Opening this Friday, Manchester by the Sea is one of the most acclaimed films of the year. Writer/director Kenneth Lonergan guides a stellar cast that includes Golden Globe nominees Casey Affleck and Michelle Williams. Justin Chang of Variety is among the many critics to give it top marks: "The persistence of grief and the hope of redemption are themes as timeless as dramaturgy itself, but rarely do they summon forth the kind of extraordinary swirl of love, anger, tenderness and brittle humor that is Manchester by the Sea."

    SPECIAL MEMBERS ONLY
    SNEAK PREVIEW SCREENING
Thursday, December 15th at 7:20 pm
You MUST present your member card at the box office to purchase tickets to this special sneak preview of Manchester by the Sea
  • Coming as a special pre-holiday opening next Wednesday (Dec 21), Jackie has already earned a Golden Globe nomination for star Natalie Portman. The film follows the days following President Kennedy's assassination in a swirling docudrama from director Pablo Larrain. The result is what Variety's Guy Lodge calls a "brilliantly constructed, diamond-hard character study [that] observes the exhausted, conflicted Jackie as she attempts to disentangle her own perspective, her own legacy, and, perhaps hardest of all, her own grief from a tragedy shared by millions."
The Family Classics Picture Show finishes its 2nd year on Sunday, December 18th at 2pm with a screening of It’s A Wonderful Life. Discounted tickets for these special Sunday events are just $3 for adults, $2 for kids, or $10 for an entire family. FCPS is made possible by lead sponsor Wells Fargo Advisors, with additional support from Mama Goose.

Back again by popular demand! At noon, on Christmas Day (Sunday, December 25th), join other Cinemapolitans for a special Thai brunch and movie to benefit the theater’s Annual Fund.

Your $50 ticket, which must be purchased by December 21, will include admission to one of the five movies at the theatre as well as a delicious assortment of food from Tamarind!
While you're planning your next week(s) at the movies, be sure to make plans to see Handmaiden and Seasons while you can. They all leave THIS Thursday, December 15th!

 See you at the movies!
