Greetings Cinemapolitans!

The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes some great opportunities to bring the whole family to the movies, like these upcoming special events and our TWO new openers arriving on Friday:
  • With The Eagle Huntress, documentarian Otto Bell shines a light on the fascinating true story of Aisholpan, a 13 year old Kazakh girl who bucks tradition to become first female eagle hunter in her family. A.O. Scott named it a NY Times Critic's Pick, calling it "a movie that expands your sense of what is possible."

  • Another documentary comes on Friday, this one from the award-winning creators of Winged Migration. In Seasons, Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud once again show us life through the eyes of animals, this time on the forest floor. Tracing the "seasons" of Earth from Ice Age to the present, the film highlights what the NY Times Jeanette Catsoulis calls "the gradual incursion of man into this earthly paradise."
NATIONAL THEATRE LIVE:
WAR HORSE
National Theatre Live finishes the season of encores with the international smash hit, War Horse. Based on Michael Morpurgo’s novel and adapted for the stage by Nick Stafford, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama is a show of phenomenal inventiveness. War Horse screens on Thursday, December 8th at 6:30 pm and again on Saturday, December 10th at 1:30 pm.

ONE NIGHT ONLY

On the heels of the annual OSCAR® NOMINATED SHORT FILMS program, ShortsHD presents STARS IN SHORTS: No Ordinary Love, a collection of seven short films about love featuring some of your favorite stars from the big and small screens.

Back again by popular demand! At noon, on Christmas Day (Sunday, December 25th), join other Cinemapolitans for a special Thai brunch and movie to benefit the theater’s Annual Fund.

Your $50 ticket, which must be purchased by December 21, will include admission to one of the five movies at the theatre as well as a delicious assortment of food from Tamarind!
While you're planning your next week(s) at the movies, be sure to make plans to see Certain Women, Harry & Snowman, and A Man Called Ove while you can. They all leave THIS Thursday, December 8th!

 See you at the movies!
