Dear Friends,

Firstly, some news from us! Combatants for Peace Co-Founder, Sulaiman Khatib, has decided to return to his role of International Relations Director and will introduce the movement to new audiences around the world, and tell his inspirational story. More news further down on his latest transformation into a published author. Rana Salmnan has been promoted to the role of co-Director, and will work with Yonatan to deliver on our mission and lead CfP to break new ground.

A message from a friend

Richard Gere is not only “An Officer and a Gentleman”, but a deeply spiritual and peace-seeking human being.

We are deeply honored to have received this moving message from our dear friend for this year's Israeli-Palestinian Memorial. The full address will be broadcast at the Memorial Ceremony.

Paving a new path

Udi and Osama both experienced the horrors of war in the Jericho region, where Osama’s family lived. Both participated in the violence, and today are both activists for Combatants for Peace. In this video, they return to Jericho together and share their memories and journey which took them from that battleground, to the very different place they have reached today.

Sulaiman Khatib - New Book!

We're excited to announce the release of this new book. In this Place Together: a Palestinian's Journey to Collective Liberation is coming out with Beacon Press on April 13, on the same day as our Joint Memorial Day Ceremony. The book features stories of many Combatants for Peace cofounders and activists, as well as a glimpse into various moments in our movement's history - from our founding to our Freedom Marches.

A joint project between an American Jewish writer, Penina Eilberg-Schwartz, and CFP co-founder Sulaiman Khatib, this book is ultimately a narrative meditation on joint nonviolence, on Palestinian-Israeli co-resistance in the face of occupation, and on what it means to struggle for justice in partnership with others, and across vast differences in power and experience. Intimate, poetic, and political, In this Place Together opens a new space and offers a vision to guide us as we fight to end the occupation, win Palestinian freedom, and experience collective liberation.
