Subject: Apply now: Retrofit listening meeting with Lord Deben & Chris Stark

Dear Friend,

From 5pm-6.30pm on Tuesday 1st March 2022, Carbon Co-op and People Powered Retrofit are hosting a small in-person, retrofit listening session in central Manchester with Lord Deben and Chris Stark of the Committee on Climate Change and we're looking for householders to come along.

The Committee on Climate Change is the organisation that has legal and regulatory oversight over the UK's carbon reduction efforts. They are vocal proponents of retrofit, strongly advocating for the role energy efficiency can play in decarbonisation efforts.

The CCC are now touring the UK looking at examples of carbon reduction projects and seeking the views of the public. They are visiting Manchester on Tuesday 1st March.

We are looking for expressions of interest from householders interested in domestic, owner occupier retrofit to participate in a listening event with CCC chair Lord Deben and chief executive Chris Stark. After some short scene setting from our industry practitioners and experts, we'll throw the room open to questions and discussion. The session is free, there will be a light buffet to follow the close of the session at 6.30pm.

You might be actively involved in a retrofit, living in an eco-home, just interested, or frustrated and facing barriers - whatever the stage of retrofit you are at, we want to hear from you.

This is a fantastic opportunity to speak directly to high level decision makers playing a role within the UK's carbon reduction efforts.

Attendance is strictly limited, so to express an interest, please apply for a place using the link below, the deadline for applications is midday Wednesday 23rd February.

The session will take place at a venue in Manchester City Centre and we will contact successful attendees by Thursday 24th February at the latest with confirmation of attendance and exact event details.

Many thanks,

Jonathan Atkinson
