Subject: Tackle your home's carbon emissions in 2022! 🌱

Welcome to 2022! 🥂

Hi Friend,

We are now well and truly into 2022. This is already looking like an exciting year with plenty of events, trainings and work taking place. One of the biggest changes for Carbon Co-op is the creation of People Powered Retrofit as a separate organisation, after our successful share issue. This is already underway, and marks the beginning of a new era for our retrofit services.

With this separation Carbon Co-op will continue to lead groundbreaking innovation projects looking at home energy systems, and building a community of co-operators working to address climate change by tackling domestic carbon emissions. All the while continuing to work with People Powered Retrofit as the service enters this new phase.

Local Authority Approach to Person Centred Retrofit for Fuel Poverty

With increased national funds for retrofit over 2021, grant funding for energy-efficient retrofit is at the highest level for over a decade. Moreover, the security of future investment in this sector looks more certain than ever, as does a local authority-led delivery model.

However, while more retrofit is being delivered, these schemes disproportionately fail to address the most vulnerable homes.

The first of four units in the series "Eco-Retrofit for Householders" is all about the basic principles of retrofit.

Whether you are thinking about insulating your home, installing a low carbon heating system, or just wondering how to make your home more comfortable or cheaper to heat, this is the introduction you need.

Foundations of Eco-Retrofit at Harrogate College

Get ahead of the curve and be a part of the green recovery with this course for members of the construction industry in the Harrogate area.

Run by People Powered Retrofit, this course gives you a starting point for getting into retrofit, the future of the building industry. Large companies have to date taken the lion’s share of energy efficiency work in large social housing projects, but the majority of the UK’s homes are owned privately and will need extensive eco-renovation works done as a part of general improvements and extensions in the coming years. Those homes need your expertise!

Now booking for Saturday 12 March 2022, 10am-4pm and Saturday 19 March 2022, 10am-4pm
