| Farming Resource Class Join us Tuesday, July 7 at 6:30 PM in the Chapel with Kevin Cahill! Kevin will be sharing his experiences with foraging, plants, and their health benefits. Some plants we think are weeds are actually edible, nutritious, and even medicinal. The Farming Resource Class is designed to share information to help enrich the community in gardening, farming, homesteading, and survival skills. Public welcome! Spread the word! |
| Journey Update | Gabe Cleator Thank you so much for praying for the Young Men's Journey to the Heart! It was so exciting to see God at work in the men's hearts; their receptiveness in small groups, large group messages, and personal time was a blessing. One guy was saved, two were baptized, and I believe all the young men grew in their walk with Christ. Praise the Lord! Please pray for these men as they go home or enter into Sound Foundations or Quest, that they would continue in the Word and in seeking the Lord. |
| Quest Update | Josiah Vanderford This afternoon, about 60 Students will be arriving for Quest to spend the next three weeks learning what it means to choose Christlike manhood. Each one of these students comes from a unique background, has their own story, and is in a different place in their walk with God. Our goal is to point each one of our staff and students to Jesus. We do this through teaching the Gospel, the Word of God, Christian Fellowship, and Christlike Example. We recognize that it is a team effort to make an event like this work and truly appreciate the part that each one of you plays in supporting the mission.
Please help us keep our state licensing requirements— - No one is allowed in the Basic Training area without prior approval from the director and following the specified check-in procedure. - Lakefront canoes must also remain locked for the duration of the program. Please contact Ops for access and make sure canoes are resecured afterwards.
Thank you again for all of your support! Please join us in praying for God to work in the heart and life of each person involved this summer. If you need anything Quest realated please contact Avery Whitaker or Josiah Vanderford. |
| Battalion Update | Capt. Winkler Last weekend, the Battalion celebrated 250 years of freedom with a lake party and cookout on Friday, a waffle breakfast in Big Sandy on Saturday, and closed out the weekend with the parade and fireworks Saturday evening. ALERT's color guard helped lead the parade, and the Tech Rescue unit and eagle mascot helped staff the Big Sandy Museum float (and won third place in the process!). We also had the opportunity to assist with an underwater search and recovery on Saturday. This week, training continues as usual. 2nd Phase will be doing Sawyer this week, so please pray for safety and be aware that they will be felling trees across the campus. |
