Mayflower Minutes
As the weather gets colder and we get ready to welcome November, the Mayflower pilgrims (from China) continue bringing in a harvest from their gardens. Sweet potatoes abound! These and other Fall greens are a precursor of their first Thanksgiving in America. Praise the Lord for His bountiful blessings and the harvest He has provided!
Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
The plan for this week includes Frog Week for Aquatics, high-angle training on the Big Sandy water tower for Tech Rescue, another week in Maine for Construction, and a fairly normal class week for Missions. Frog week is a very intense week of training that is designed to increase mental fortitude and put to the test the skills the men have learned through the quarter. This will be a busy week in other ways, too, with the men assisting with the Veteran’s Banquet on Thursday and beginning an 8-hour workout (the October Breeze) at 12:00 AM on Saturday, November 4. Please pray for good responses to the significant challenges that will come in each of the final three weeks of training, as well as true spiritual growth that will continue as the men head home shortly.
Basic Training Update | Capt. Hawley
This past weekend, Unit 69 successfully passed their Saturday inspection! This coming week, the men will participate in their Solo Hike and the Basic Responder Challenge, Wednesday through Saturday. During these events, the men are tested in almost every area of training they have received during Basic Training. Please pray that they will continue to push themselves to the end and not miss the lessons they have yet to learn.
