The report was complemented by an event hosted by the Institute's Center for Peace and Security in the Middle East featuring Israel's Minister of Economic Affairs Noach Hacker and Dr. Michael Doran.
The discussion examined the economic foundations of the United States–Israel partnership and its growing importance to American prosperity and competitiveness, including Israel’s technical edge and how collaboration in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other emerging technologies delivers tangible returns for the United States. Congratulations to the State of Indiana and Israel's Iron Nation Fund on the announcement of their new $60+ million investment and commercialization initiative designed to strengthen Indiana’s position as a destination for innovation-driven growth.
Anchored by a $15 million investment from the State of Indiana and a more than $30 million commitment from the Iron Nation partnership, the initiative will create a strategic bridge between Indiana and Israel by connecting Indiana’s leading corporations, healthcare systems, universities and communities with world-class Israeli technology companies.
Under the agreement, Iron Nation Fund portfolio companies will be encouraged to “establish their U.S. headquarters in Indiana, positioning the state as a launchpad into the broader U.S. market,” said Gil Friedlander, co-founder and managing partner of Iron Nation.
Key institutional partners include the Indiana Office of Commerce, Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Central Indiana Regional Development Authority, Indiana Corporate Partnership, and Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis.
In 2024, COIL featured Iron Nation Co-Founder & Managing Partner, Chen Linchevski, as a guest speaker at our Israel panel event at Denver Startup Week, entitled, "How to Build a Resilient Startup Ecosystem: Lessons from Israel,” featuring venture capitalists, startup founders, and local investors active in the Israeli tech ecosystem."

“Indiana is committed to competing and winning in the industries shaping the future,” said Governor Mike Braun. “Iron Nation–Indiana reflects the kind of partnership we want to pursue -one that combines public leadership, private capital and real commercial opportunity to bring more investment, more innovation and more long-term value to our state.”
“This initiative aligns with Indiana’s broader strategy to grow wages, strengthen our economy and create more opportunities for Hoosiers. When Indiana gets a chance to lead, we win. Iron Nation–Indiana gives our state a practical way to engage promising companies earlier, build strategic partnerships and translate innovation into long-term economic growth,” said Secretary of Commerce David J. Adams.
