Subject: What To Drink In Denver This Winter Weekend

Well, winter is firmly entrenched and baby is it cold outside! This is the time for Glögg.

Glögg, mulled wine, wassail and gluhwein are a few of the many names for warm spiced red wine, found in many cultures around the world and thought to have originated in 1st century Rome. The Romans traveled all over Europe, conquering much of it and trading with the rest. The legions brought wine culture with them, up the Rhine and Danube rivers and to the Scottish border, bringing their recipes as well. The drink could be served hot or cold and be alcoholic or non-alcoholic.

If you’re like us, you don’t need a reason to celebrate dark chocolate, but it sure is sweet to have one. National Dark Chocolate Day on February 1 is an opportunity to exalt the health and happiness that dark chocolate brings and pay homage to the history and cultural significance surrounding this decadent treat.

Whichever way you prefer to drink during the winter, there is no better spirit that can warm you up like bourbon.
