Breaking News: Westbound I-10 Lanes Re-Opened After Fatal Crash

Westbound lanes of Interstate 10 were shut down for more than six hours today after a man riding a motorcycle was killed in an early-morning crash near the McClure Tunnel in Santa Monica.

The busy thoroughfare was reopened to traffic at 11:20 a.m.

The motorcycle collision, which occurred on the westbound side, involved at least three other vehicles, according to the Santa Monica Police Department. No other injuries were reported.

Traffic was jammed all the way to the 405 Freeway until well past 10 a.m. but southbound lanes on Pacific Coast Highway remained open. Westbound traffic was diverted to the Lincoln Boulevard exit as the lanes were shut down and authorities waited for the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office to arrive on scene.

The motorcycle rider died after being taken to the hospital, according to police. His identity has not been released.

No other information about the other vehicles involved was released by authorities.
