BREAKING NEWS: Sunset Blvd. Closed Due to Possible Explosive Device

Police authorities have shut down Sunset Blvd. from Los Liones to PCH in both directions because of a possible explosive device that was found on a person near the bus bench at Castellammare Dr. and Sunset near the Vons grocery store, according to Sgt. Jeff Lovick of the LAPD.

The person in possession of the item was detained.

Maurice Lewis, a witness to the incident, said the man was in possession of a grenade.

No injuries have been reported. The Spectrum Gym has been evacuated, according to a witness.

Police are still investigating and are waiting for the bomb squad to arrive.

All traffic is being diverted to PCH or back up Sunset to the Village.
