BREAKING NEWS: Students Reporting Back to Class, Police Give All Clear


Palisades Charter High School was given the all clear by police bomb technicians following a bomb scare reported today, Nov. 4, which led to the evacuation of the campus.

At about noon, the Palisades High's Executive Director and Principal Pam Magee said that students and staff were reporting back to class and that students will be dismissed at end of a normal school day schedule.

"We do not advise picking up your student at this time absent any extenuating circumstances," Magee said in an email.

The school was evacuated after a threat was reported about 9 a.m. this morning, according to police. Palisades High School was also serving as a polling station in today's county and state elections. Authorities temporarily suspended balloting at the campus and began evacuations, according to police.

An LAPD bomb squad and police dogs were also sent to the campus after authorities learned of the threat, which was made around 8:30 a.m. via Yik Yak, a popular app that allows anonymous postings.

The matter is under investigation, police said.
