BREAKING NEWS: Palisadian Siege Ends, Alleged Gunman Dead

LAPD has confirmed that a 12-hour standoff at a $14 million home on Alta Mura Road has ended after SWAT officers entered and found the body of a male with gunshot injury in a second-story bedroom. It is not known whether the injury was self-inflicted: No one else was found in the house. The siege began around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, following reports of a “drunken and angry” man firing shots in the house before his girlfriend fled. SWAT officers fired at least 50 tear gas canisters into the 9,000-square-foot house. Public records show that the house is owned by Tamme McCauley, who is the adopted daughter of developer Melvin Simon. He part-owned the Indiana Pacers before his death seven years ago.
