BREAKING NEWS: PCH Reopens after Power Lines Force Closure

Pacific Coast Highway has reopened after downed power lines at Sunset and PCH forced the closure of the highway in both directions for more than six hours Tuesday, Dec. 2, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The high-voltage power lines were dangling across all traveling lanes of the highway, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The incident was first reported at 10:20 a.m., according to Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the LAFD.

Northbound traffic was diverted to Temescal Canyon Road and southbound traffic to Topanga Canyon Road during the PCH closure.

No one was injured during the incident.
