Pyrolysis & Gasification Incinerators will Continue to be Regulated in the U.S.

Towards the end of the Trump Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sought to exempt pyrolysis & gasification incinerators from Section 129 of the Clean Air Act, which had been used to regulate these toxic polluting facilities for decades.


Thanks to the advocacy of #breakfreefromplastic changemakers and allies, EPA Administrator Michael Regan has officially withdrawn the Trump-era proposal. Pyrolysis & gasification incinerators will continue to be regulated across the country!
