Happy May! I mean, we're expecting snow this weekend, but that's ok... we have a new class and a good plan for re-opening when the time comes!
It's all part of the revolving seasons and our sense of the unexpected and our resilience for managing things should be pretty high these days, right??
We're feeling pretty resilient here at Boomerang, and I want to update you on how things are going here as we move into week whatever of the Covid era.
I am so grateful to all of you who are coming out to our online classes, continuing your private sessions with your teachers via Zoom and Skype, and keeping the Boomerang community vibrant and healthy. Movement is a critical part of bolstering your immune system and your mental health and we're thrilled to offer you everything we can to support you.
Your enthusiastic response to our shift to the online world has been rewarding not only because we love teaching, and it's keeping us all sane and grounded, but because we can look to the future with confidence.
I can assure you that Boomerang will be here for you when the restrictions are lifted, and whatever the recovery looks like, we will gradually re-introduce live classes and sessions at the studio.
When we are given the go-ahead to re-open it will happen in the reverse of how we closed. - We'll start with one private session at a time, with thorough cleaning between sessions, and outdoor classes with no props.
- Next level will be the first 3 people to sign up for a class can attend in person, everyone else will be on Zoom. You'll bring your own props (we'll alert you in advance to what those will be) and mat.
- We'll gradually increase the number of live clients as is appropriate, and I can't predict the rate at which that will happen.
We will continue to offer the option of Zoom attendance for the next year or so. Or maybe forever! There will continue to be people who have to choose between their classes and their immune-compromised loved ones (or themselves!) and I won't take the option of joining class away from them.
We'll all get used to the computer sitting in the middle of the class, I promise đ
I know there are businesses in our beloved Roncy neighbourhood who have shut their doors forever due to the the costs of the pandemic, and my heart breaks for every single one of them, and those whose closure is yet to come. I encourage everyone to shop local as much as is humanly possible to support the small businesses who are doing everything they can to keep life a little bit normal!
So that's what's coming at some point in the future, but we have something new for you right away, too. Rachel has been asked repeatedly to add another of her kick-a*s Pilates for Yogis classes to the schedule and she has agreed. Woot woot! Wednesdays at 8 am (for you morning folks) and Fridays at 6 pm to get your weekend off to a good start. Look for the description and link below to sign up if you're looking for a serious workout.
And if you want something you can do on your own time and keep forever, all of Alison's online courses are on sale 25% off for the duration of the Covid mayhem. Enter the code COVID25OFF at checkout to get your discount! |
