March at Boomerang!
Hey there! Are you making it through the winter? ‘Cause tempting though it is to feel like spring is almost here, what with the sun and milder temperatures, we’re not there yet…
So come on out to the studio to lift your spirits and your legs!

The winter schedule continues as usual until the beginning of April, with the exception of the new Pilates Fundamentals class with Alison on Wednesdays at 7:40 pm. This class gets you started on the classical Pilates repertoire. We break each exercise down so you get all the strength and mobility components you need to successfully achieve each one!
We’ve also have Petra’s foot workshop coming up with only a couple spots left! Be sure to get sign up sooner than later.

Also we’re fun to be with, so there’s that!    : ))

Here’s to making it through to April with love in our hearts and a spring in our steps!

We'll have a slightly reduced schedule for Easter weekend, March 30 to April 2, please double check the schedule before coming to class.
Fit, Fabulous FEET with Petra!
***2 spots left!***

Sunday, March 4 from 12:30-3:30 pm

Happy feet are the key to a body that feels better and works better. That means they need to be strong and mobile. Since most of our feet have been imprisoned in shoes and walked only on flat surfaces for our ENTIRE LIVES they are often very unhappy.

This workshop will help your feet feel better and work better, so you can enjoy better long term wellness in your entire body.

Topics covered:
  • Exercises to strengthen and mobilize your feet
  • How to load your feet better in standing and walking
  • Exercises to help you stand and walk better so that your feet stay happy
  • How to choose better shoes

Relate to Your Ribs!
Wish you could have made it to the Get Moving 101 free class we just had? Now you can! We’ve posted it to Youtube for you to enjoy at your convenience.

Relate to Your Ribs is all about building mobility and responsiveness in your rib cage. We don’t often think about the ribs as a critical part of our movement schedule, but did you know that rib fractures are common in those with osteoporosis? It is really important to move through the whole torso, including the rib cage, to support breathing and create a vibrant environment for your bones to thrive!

Up on the blog:
As some of you may know, Alison and Tania went and enjoyed a week as students of the Anatomy Trains Dissection program. It was an incredible experience and really enriched our understanding of the complexity of the fascial network of connective tissue and how true it is when we say “it’s all connected”!

If you want to hear more about it, you can check out the latest blog post here. It won’t be gruesome, I promise!

Gabe is running a CPR certification course on Saturday, March 24 from 2-7 pm.

The course is a Canadian Red Cross CPR level C course, which means you will learn choking and CPR skills, including the use of an AED, for an adult and for a baby.  The CPR C certification is WSIB approved (and is the level required for fitness, yoga and pilates instructors). The Canadian Red Cross now uses electronic certifications so it should arrive in your email within 2 weeks of completion of the course. If you need a certificate right away, I can provide you with a temporary one the day of the course.

This course is open to instructors, clients and the general public. Please contact gabe.thirlwall@gmail.com to register or talk to Alison at Boomerang.
