Greetings -
When I talk with massage therapists who are thinking about opening a school, they often want to start with the checklist: applications, curriculum, state approvals, and finances.
But here’s the truth: the real foundation of a school is the story behind it.
I know because that’s how my own journey began. After losing three close family members who all died way too early, I found myself searching for healing—for myself. Massage therapy gave me that gift.
After I graduated, I began teaching at the school I graduated from. Teaching lit me up in ways I never expected. And together, those passions became the heartbeat of the school I bought in 2010.
After losing my finger in a traumatic accident, my story and my mission changed. I set a goal to help 1 million people out of pain: physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially.
That story still drives everything we do today—and it’s what connects our students to a bigger purpose.
Your story matters too. It’s what will inspire your students, give your school its unique voice, and carry you through the hard days of ownership.
So, let me ask you:
If your school could tell a story about you—your journey, your why—what would it say?
That’s where your blueprint begins.
When you’re ready, I’d love to talk about turning your story into the foundation of your school.
With you,
Shari
