| Hey Friend,
As parents, we spend a lot of time teaching our kids important life lessons.
Work hard.
Be responsible.
Don't give up.
Do your best.
But the truth is, our kids learn more from what we do than from what we say.
To give you an example, last weekend I competed in our provincial bicycle road race.
Over the past few years, I raced in the "Weekend Warrior" category and even won that division in the past. But this year, I wanted to challenge myself even more, so I moved up and raced in the "Elite" category.
I trained hard, pushed myself, and rode the fastest 80km of my life.
But I still got my butt kicked and finished near the back of the pack.
And you know what?
I was happy with that.
Because the goal wasn't to win.
The goal was to challenge myself and give it my best effort.
My son Harvey got to see that.
He saw his dad set a difficult goal.
He saw the work that went into preparing for that race.
He saw me push myself outside my comfort zone.
And he saw me fall short of winning, yet still hold my head high and be proud of the result.
That's a lesson you can't teach with words.
But you can teach it by living it. |
| | The same thing applies to your health and fitness.
When your kids see you exercising, eating better, getting stronger, and taking care of yourself, they're learning valuable lessons about discipline, perseverance, and personal responsibility.
They're learning what it looks like to do hard things.
That's one of the reasons I believe fitness is about so much more than losing weight and getting in shape.
It's about becoming the kind of person your family looks up to.
The kind of dad who leads by example.
That's exactly what we help men do inside the Muscle After 40 Blueprint Coaching Program.
If you'd like some help getting back in shape, feeling confident in your own skin, and setting a positive example of health and fitness for your family, book a complimentary coaching call with me and we'll map out a realistic action plan based on your goals, lifestyle, and fitness level.
If you start now, by the end of summer you could be 20+ pounds lighter, feeling better than you have in years, and showing your kids what's possible when you commit to becoming the best version of yourself.
Not just by talking about it, but by living it.

P.S. Your kids are always watching. The example you set today could become the standard they follow for the rest of their lives.
P.P.S. If you'd like to check out some of the highlights from the race, check out the video below. I had a GoPro camera mounted on my bike and captured some of the action from the rider's perspective. You'll get a firsthand look at what it was like racing and see exactly why I was so proud of giving it my all, regardless of where I finished. Watch The Race Highlight Video Here. |
