You'll never get motivated sitting around waiting for that burst of motivation.

That's like waiting for your car to start moving before you turn the key.

The secret to motivation is to make starting as easy as possible to remove the friction that prevents you from taking that first step.

For example, lay out your gym clothes the night before. Plan your meals ahead of time. Have a simple "minimum standard" workout you can do anytime - even if you only have 10 minutes.

Once you start, motivation catches up.
Because nothing feels more motivating than seeing yourself follow through.
