Subject: The Truth About "Diet Breaks"

Lee Hayward's Total Fitness Bodybuilding Tips
Hey Friend,

Do you really need diet breaks? 🤔

This question came up during my last live Q&A...

"What's your opinion on taking diet breaks?"

My answer is...

If you've been dieting hard, you're constantly hungry, low on energy, and mentally burned out...

Then yes, taking a short break and eating at maintenance calories can help you recharge both physically and mentally.

But here's the bigger question...

Why do you need a break in the first place?

If your diet has you feeling miserable after a few weeks, it's usually a sign that the plan is too aggressive.

During my own Muscle After 40 transformation, I never scheduled diet breaks.

I simply created a small calorie deficit, focused on eating nutritious foods, strength training consistently, getting enough sleep, and let the results compound over time.

Did it take longer?

Absolutely.

But I also enjoyed the process.

I wasn't counting down the days until I could finally stop dieting.

That's the approach I recommend to my coaching clients.

Instead of following a plan that's so restrictive you need to escape from it every few weeks...

Build a plan you can actually live with.

Because if you're doing it right...

You shouldn't need a break from your healthy lifestyle. 💪
