Subject: Holy Carp - WORST Supplement Ad Ever...

From Nick Nilsson

Yeah, that was an intentional typo in the subject
line of this email. I'm sure you can figure out
what I meant to say :)

So I received a question yesterday from a guy who
was desperately looking to add some muscle mass to
his frame. He said he had been recommeneded a
supplement that had clinical research behind it
but he wanted to know what else he could take with
it to further increase results.

The product was called Endothil CR - I had never
heard of it before, so I promptly Googled it to
see what it was all about. I'm always naturally
suspicious of stuff I've never heard of so
naturally, I wanted to know more about it before I
responded to the guy.

Well, lo and behold, I went to the site and found
what has to be the most COMICAL study I've ever
seen published to support the claims of a
muscle-buildling supplement. It's just pathetic.

Here's the page with the study on it (and please
promise me that you WON'T buy this product before
you click this link).

Read through the introduction and you'll see it
all sounds very scientific and plausible (assuming
you have a degree in molecular physiology, of
course). But here's what got me laughing...the
Results section...

----------

Results

After six weeks, the subjects who took the active
compound experienced a significant (p < 0.05)
increase in both upper and lower body strength as
well as in circumference of the biceps muscle.
Specifically, the amount of weight bench pressed
increased by 10 lbs. in subjects receiving ECR’s
core compound compared to an increase of 5 lbs. in
subjects receiving placebo. The amount of weight
leg pressed increased 70 lbs. in the experimental
group versus 20 lbs. in placebo treated subjects.

The treatment group experienced a significant
increase in biceps circumference that was more
than four times that of the placebo group, who
experienced almost no increase in biceps
circumference (p=0.03). There were no significant
changes between the two groups in quadriceps
circumference, % body fat, % lean body mass,
weight, or body mass index.

----------

I've got two things to tell you...

1. If you train for 6 weeks and you only increase
your bench press by 10 lbs, you have a GARBAGE
training program. And that's even WITH this
"powerful" supplement. The control group only
increased their bench press by FIVE pounds in SIX
weeks.

2. This is the REALLY funny part...the increase
in bicep size was FOUR TIMES as great in the group
that took the supplement as compared to the group
that gained almost NOTHING. Read that again...yes,
they are actually BRAGGING that their supplement
produced results more than 4 times better than
practically nothing...

And then the last sentence is just a bonus. "Oh,
and by the way, nothing else really happened in
the ENTIRE BODY."

Give me some of that!

Here's how their marketing department interpreted
these results:

----------

During a double-blind, six-week body-building
study, the active compound in Endothil-CR
increased upper body strength by 100% and lower
body strength by 249% after concentrated exercise
(as measured by the amount of weight participants
could bench press and leg press). And biceps
circumference increased dramatically over placebo
– more than a four-fold increase in
circumference versus almost no increase with the
placebo group (who were on the same body-building
program).

----------

That's what got me laughing out loud...and lucky
for you, this product isn't banned (yet!) by the
International Olympic Committee...check out the
site. It'll crack you up.

Anyways, once you're done having a good laugh,
it's time to get back to some serious training.

You might recall I had sent an email yesterday
about Jeff Anderson's updated "Optimum Anabolics"
program. If you haven't had a chance to check it
out yet, definitely go have a look:

http://www.fitstep.com/goto/optimum-anabolics.htm

This is actual quality training (along with a
controversial protein-deprivation method) that
will put a whole lot more than 10 lbs on your
bench press in 6 weeks and give you much more than
4 times the results of almost nothing.

Cripes. I still can't believe they actually
published that.

I've known Jeff for years and I know the kind of
time and meticulous research he puts into his
programs. This is quality stuff and I have no
trouble recommending it highly. It's a great
"sneak attack" method for forcing your body to add
mass.

P.S. Remember, I'm also going to throw in a bonus
copy of my "Hybrid Training" ebook when you
purchase Jeff's book through that link. After you
grab it, you'll get an email with the download
link. You can use these Hyrbid exercises in Jeff's
program to actually magnify your results to an
even GREATER degree!
