Subject: Challenge yourself with this workout...
I'm
a big fan of challenging yourself in your
training...HUGE fan, in fact.
Heck, you've probably seen some of the insane stuff I've
done
(deadlifting 455 lbs for 43 single reps in 20 minutes,
1200+
chin-ups over 5 days...2 mile runs with a 70 lb sandbag...that
kind of thing).
It makes you feel
ALIVE...and makes training FUN!
I mean, just coming
in to the gym every day and doing 3 sets
of 10 of the same exercises over and over would just kill
my
motivation...and I LOVE training!
And I'm pretty sure
you're the same way...
Now, yesterday,
I talked about a program called "The
UNBREAKABLE BADASS Blueprint" by high-level strength
coach and Crossfit competitor Travis Stoetzel.
One of the major components Travis brings into his new
program is that of "competition' and "challenge."
Travis feels (and I agree with him 100%) that in order
to
get the best gains possible from your training program,
you
have to COMPETE (but in a smart way).
Not only should you compete against another person (which
is always fun), but more importantly, you have to always
compete against YOURSELF.
Now, with that being said, Travis has sent me a FULL
workout taken from his newly released program, The
UNBREAKABLE
BADASS Blueprint. 2.0
Within his program he has something he
calls, "Chaos Exposure Sessions".
These give his program
just the right amount of "chaotic"
programming that you need in order to keep your body
from stagnating and to keep having FUN and challenge in
your training.
He has 4 different
types of these so called "Chaos Exposure
Sessions" which include:
1 - Strength /Power
Metcons
2 - Interval / Pace Sessions
3 - Grinders
4 - Kardio King's
Each of these different
set ups are unique in their own way
and each challenge your body a little bit differently.
Today I've got an
example of a "strength/metcon" EXPOSURE
session that Travis shared with me that I think you'll
love.
Overall, he's got
36 of these different "exposure" sessions
within his NEW system in addition to all of the other
"controlled"
strength and power training he has already.
Here's the set up:
1 - "Strength / Metcon"
3 Rounds
For Time:
10 DB Front Squats
@ 50 lbs
5 Deadlifts @ 365 lbs (or as heavy as YOU can go with
solid form and technique)
25 Push Ups On DB's
***SCORE - Time Completed + Weight Used
***Use LESS weight if need be - loads listed are suggestions
ONLY)
Now keep in
mind, before you hit this part of the workout,
you'll first hit up the main strength and power section
of the
programming, which serves as the main structure of the
system.
Overall, the design
of this workout goes right along with
Travis' special "Controlled Chaos" method of
programming
which will get you burning
tons of fat and building lean
muscle, but will also help get you strong, powerful, and
insanely conditioned.
Let me know how you
do with it!
