Artist, educator, and fashion designer, Hadley Clark creates handmade garments and sculptures from textile remnants. Her work draws from her belief in the importance of material reuse and natural dyeing processes.
During her residency at Belger Crane Yard Studios, she’s creating “clay fixtures and fastenings for her wearable and sculptural works.” This new body of work will be on view in her upcoming solo exhibition that opens on September 12 at Studios Inc.
Clark studied Painting at the University of Kansas (BFA) and Garment Design and Construction (BFA) from The New School | Parsons Paris. She’s taught at the University of Kansas, the Kansas City Art Institute and leads community-based workshops.
Sign up for her two-part Weekend Intensive, Ceramic Buttons and Stitching, where you will create ceramic buttons and learn to sew them onto a garment or soft object. The Weekend Intensive will be held at Belger Crane Yard Studios over two Sundays, August 7 & 24, from 11:00AM to 2:00PM each day. |
