Free Hands-On Activity at the Belger Crane Yard Gallery

Glass Demo and Community Wind Chime Project

Join us for the First Friday glass demonstration at the Belger Crane Yard Gallery from 6 to 8PM--with a special hands on twist. Program Coordinator Emily Potter will lead participants in a glass fusing activity to help create a collaborative Community Wind Chime. Cut and arrange sheet glass into your own design, then leave it with us to be kiln-fired into a finished fused-glass creation that will be displayed at the Belger Glass Annex. Get creative and be part of this community artwork!

The Belger Glass Annex is currently closed for summer maintenance. Glass demonstrations will resume at the Belger Glass Annex on Friday, September 4.

Resident artist Zoey McLeod with her work featured in Proximity and Practice

Proximity and Practice: Belger Arts’ Annual Resident Exhibition

Over the past year, Belger Arts' eight resident artists have pushed their studio practices, exploring how proximity—or lack thereof—shapes their connections to family, community, online spaces, and the physical world.

Meet three of the participating artists and hear their remarks at 6:30PM: Erin Drake, Zoey McLeod, and Warren Van Ryzin

Proximity and Practice runs through September 5, 2026.

Beat the Heat

Through diverse techniques and materials, artists featured in Beat the Heat capture the distinctive spirit of summer, evoking both the warmth of the season and relief from its oppressive heat. Each artist addresses a key aspect of the summer experience—whether it’s vibrant nightlife, exploring the outdoors and urban environments, or finding moments of calm amid the season’s frenzy. Together, they consider the central question: “What Beats the Heat?”

This exhibition is on view through September 5, 2026.
