Call for Glass Artists

The Fountain Project

A Belger Arts-Powell Gardens Collaboration

Unveiling date: May 1, 2026

Belger Arts invites artists to apply for a new opportunity involving the Belger Glass Annex and Powell Gardens, Kansas City’s Botanical Garden. This unique project brings together a team of glass artists to create a blown glass fountain designed by the Belger Glass Annex (digital rendering shown here).

We are seeking nine glass artists—three gaffers and six assistants—for the fabrication and installation of the design’s functional and decorative glass components. The team will work together at the Belger Glass Annex and participate in the transportation, assembly, and installation of the fountain.

Our Foundation Residency program is open to glass and ceramic emerging artists seeking to further their artistic and professional careers and gain experience teaching and working with the public. These residencies are ideal for artists aiming to develop a body of work, who thrive in a shared, communal space, and are preparing for the next step in their professional pursuits.

Our Visiting Artist Residency program is designed for mid-career ceramic artists pursuing opportunities for professional development in their portfolio or areas such as technical and conceptual exploration.
