Winter is here... Make sure you do these things: 1) Ensure weak colonies are combined with strong ones 2) Feed weaker colonies sugar water with 2:1 ratio 3) Remove extra supers so bees have less space to keep warm 4) Check for pests: -- ants, wax moth, varroa mite 5) In colder areas, consider insulation 6) Move colonies out of cold pools inside valleys, low lying areas 7) Seek winter forage if you can move your bees 8) Do not do frequent inspections especially on or just before frost/snow events
