Hello Friend,

Asmodeus is most well known as the demon of lust and rage. These attributes have been thoroughly documented in many occult texts. Today, however, I want to tell you about how S. Connolly reframes this and shows us a deeper perspective of Asmodeus’s powers, specifically unveiling the joy of Asmodeus.

A Tome Of Power And Insight... Author S. Connolly Reflects On The Joys Of Working With Asmodeus

I just received my advance copies of the Compendium of Asmodeus, bound both in cloth and leather. They are beautiful tomes, especially the leather, and the insight, spells, and rituals that are contained within them are priceless. As soon as I got my copies in, I started flipping the pages and digging into the content, immersing myself in what each author brought forth and what they received from Asmoday.

It’s hard to say which contribution I was most impressed with, as they’re all profoundly insightful. However, I was particularly drawn to the closing thoughts that S. Connolly offered in her Grimorium of Asmodeus. I’d like to share this with you now:

In my personal experience with Asmodeus, I found this demon’s energy rather playful and joyful, encouraging me to indulge in my passions with wild abandon, to take a spa day or shirk at minor responsibility. It’s really not the end of the world. Asmodeus has helped me rekindle my love of hobbies and interests, even things I’m not very good at that bring me joy. It’s not just about sex, though sexual healing and exploration are two of Asmodeus’s strong points. It’s about these things in life that make your heart sing and make you feel like the world is still new and wondrous, regardless of your age.
— S. Connolly, Compendium of Asmodeus, p.123

For me, Asmodeus is joy in the things we’re passionate about, the people and interests that make life worth living. I encourage everyone reading this to work with Asmodeus at least once and allow him to guide you on an exploration of yourself and your deepest desires so that you can go about preparing a plan of action to make what you love your reality. May the fire of Asmodeus and the breath of his wisdoms fuel your passion for a lifetime.”

Thank you, S. Connolly, for your contribution and for that lovely closing thought, because it is probably too often that we, as black magicians, look for the most obvious utilities of these spirits. We see that they can bring us power, knowledge, lust, rage, and revenge, but they’re also seeking to help us fulfill ourselves in the most basic, fundamental ways that they can. They encourage us to find joy and happiness in life, and they open the doorways for us to pass through difficult circumstances in order to find the hidden gifts those circumstances can bring.

There are many powerful thoughts and insights that will bring you to conclusions such as these, and much more, within the Compendium of Asmodeus. I’m proud to be part of a work as amazing as this one. You can check it out at balg.co/asmodeus.
