The magick that I’m referring to is called “bubble magick." Now, before you go rushing in and start blowing bubbles all over the place, you should know that there are some potentially unintended side effects, a specific kind of blowback unique to bubble magick.

The other day I was moving large shipment of Become a Living God's inventory from our old warehouse into our new state of the art shipping and warehousing facility. A lot of people probably assume that I’d have a team of black magick henchmen to do the dirty work for me, but I’m a bit too obsessed with every aspect of my work, and I wanted to personally ensure the safe handling of the cargo.

Once everything was loaded and I was ready to get on the road, I looked over the truck loaded with products and, of course, I didn't want anything to happen to them. You see, to me these aren't just products or items to sell: they are magickal tools; they are gateways of power.

Before closing up the cargo and driving off, I wanted to place some sort of blessing on the vehicle and on the magickal items I was transporting.

I didn't have any of my personal magickal tools with me to jump into a cleansing, purification, and blessing ritual.

Sure, I could have probably just reached out my hand and pushed my power towards the truck and envisioned the protective envelope, and I could have simply solidified the imagined reality through my magickal will, but I do like to take physical action or symbolic action to ground my will into the physical world.

I looked around to see what I could use that I had with me immediately available, and I saw the perfect magick tool for this: my daughter's bubble wand!

Don’t tell anyone that I said this, but I love playing with bubbles. I love blowing them. I love popping them. I love watching them float in the wind. I especially love it when they sit for a moment and quiver a little right before popping. I love the rainbow light that gets caught on the outside of the bubble.

I've always really loved bubbles, so I took my magickal bubble tool and thought, this is the perfect thing to do the blessing with!

Bubbles are light, they're carefree, they're just having fun, they float with the breeze and they can sometimes be a lot stronger than they look. It seemed perfect, since I wanted to have an alleviation of stress and of anxiety on the trip and I also wanted to make sure that, like a bubble, we were protected. That we would just float on to the destination without any issues, which did happen.

The blessing itself is easy. It doesn't matter what kind of bubbles or bubble wand you're using, or you can even make your own solution with dish soap and water, and a wire hanger bent into a loop as a wand.

Facing the object, area or person that you're blessing, lightly blow bubbles straight at the thing that you're blessing, visualizing the positive outcome of the blessing, the peaceful power of the playful action transferring to the object of the blessing.

As you do so, you can release any anxiety, fear, stress, anger, or any emotions that are acting as obstacles to peace.

If you can get yourself to peace and certainty, circumstances will flow smoothly. If you live in fear, anger, and doubt, then you have become your own worst obstacle.

So, I circled the moving truck and blew bubbles on it and imagined the light airiness of it — we would simply drift along the path along the road towards our destination; we wouldn't be harmed; and I would be able to let go of some of those obstructing emotions and just be happy and float.

It was a very relaxing, easy drive, not even a hint of any kind of issue on the highway. No problem finding the destination.

When I opened the back gate though, I saw that despite my best packing and wrapping and organizational efforts, all of the books, all of the statues and talismans and everything that was back there basically got shuffled around. Some stacks tipped over, other stacks were mysteriously misplaced. It's like some invisible creatures were having a party in the back of the truck while I was driving.

I not-so-gently reminded myself that I need to slow down a little while I'm driving and maybe take my corners a little easier.

But, my girlfriend made a suggestion that maybe the disarray was actually due to the bubble blessing. You see, bubbles are lightweight, they're carefree, they're innocent and fun.

They're also chaotic, aren't they?

Bubbles will simply float and pop whenever they wish.

Sometimes when you try to blow bubbles, some of them don't even make bubbles at all, but just some sort of soapy spittle shoots out at whatever you're pointing at.

It's really hard to predict what bubbles are going to do. It's even harder to control them and force them to do what you want them to do.

So even though this bubble blessing did actually work, it also taught me a little bit about the nature of this kind of magick and the fact that you really do have to be wise and how you apply all of your magick.

It didn't take long to get all the books sorted out, and with the help of this amazing shipping crew, we were able to get everything sorted, labeled, and put exactly where it needed to go.

The remainder of the day for me was as carefree, as anxiety-free, and as childishly fun as it could have possibly been.

I thank the bubbles, and I'll make sure that I think twice next time about the potential blowback of using bubble magick.
