A Fully Updated, Higher-Powered Second Edition Of My Previously Sold Out Grimoire… Back Finally For The First Time In 18 Years |
|
This book is not entirely new. Actually, I first wrote it 18 years ago and it was my first published work of many that followed. However, that old edition has been revised now and a lot of new material has been added, exploring the role of Mephistopheles in both traditional and modern magic in a much greater depth than ever before. In this presentation we will take a look at what the book includes and what you can expect by working with this mysterious spirit.
Who Is The Spirit Called Mephisto?
First of all, The Book of Mephisto is the first and the only grimoire dedicated solely to Mephistopheles. You may wonder why I use the name “Mephisto” instead of “Mephistopheles” – like many other spirits, Mephistopheles is a name with many variants depending on a source. Mephisto is simply one of them. This, however, has a deeper meaning, too – Mephisto was the name revealed to me in the first ritual with him many years ago, and I use it in my own work because of my long-time personal relationship with the spirit. For this reason, in the book you will find both versions of his name, and I also discuss the etymology of other possible variants, their origin and their meaning.
Before we look at the contents of the book, it is important to explain who Mephisto is and how he made his way to Left Hand Path magic. In medieval and Renaissance sources, Mephisto is one of the most popular demonic spirits. Some accounts even ascribe him a high position in the infernal hierarchy, right next to Lucifer. As Mephistophiel, he is one of the seven great princes of Hell. It is also said that he was one of the first four angels who rebelled against God and fell from grace. In this context he is mentioned alongside Lucifer, Belial and Leviathan. He is described in Cornelius Agrippa’s writings and in many sixteenth-century grimoires. Despite his popularity in visual arts and literary works, however, he remains the most ambiguous demonic entity of the whole Western Tradition, and the purpose of my book is to shed more light on his role as a magician’s assistant and initiator – and this is what you will find here.
The Book of Mephisto is a modern grimoire. Originally, it was based on several years of my personal study and experience with Faustian magic. Now, after almost two decades of my work with Mephisto, I have expanded this work in a lot of ways. The better, second edition of the book contains over 40% completely updated, new material. It is a book of rituals and meditations for those interested in practical aspects of the Faustian Tradition, providing a fresh perspective on infamous pacts with the Devil, blood magic, Satanic demonology, and Sabbatic witchcraft. It contains rituals and magical practices which embrace diverse faces and aspects of Mephisto, the devil of the Faustian Tradition. You will find here references to old grimoires and books of magic as well as chosen works of literature, such as Goethe’s "Faust," Christopher Marlowe’s "Doctor Faustus," and Mikhail Bulghakov’s "The Master and Margarita." Elements of magic and demonology contained in all these works are here translated into practical and effective system of modern magic. The role of Mephisto is revealed in a new light – instead of a traditional principle of evil, he becomes the initiator on the Left Hand Path, the Adversary, and the personal Shadow of psychological alchemy.

Bibliography |
The Book of Mephisto doesn’t explore the Faustian Tradition in a large context. It is not a discussion of Renaissance magic, either. This book is a grimoire dedicated solely to Mephisto - his aspects and forms in which he appears in esotericism and the literature of the West. Texts and rituals presented here are written from the modern perspective and are meant to be used by a modern practitioner. By acquiring The Book of Mephisto you will:
- Gain access to the only magical text dedicated to Mephistopheles that has ever been written.
- Find out about the occult history of Mephistopheles from the oldest mentions and Renaissance grimoires to modern literary works of the Faustian Tradition.
- Discover how to summon him as your personal assistant and initiator into mysteries of Luciferian magic.
- Learn how to astral travel to the Witches’ Sabbat and how to descend to infernal dimensions with Mephisto as a guide.
- Read about pacts with the Devil and learn how to summon spirits of the old grimoires in the modern context.
