Hey Friend,

I’ve been reading tarot for nearly 20 years, and it is still my preferred tool for divination.

The power of the tarot goes far beyond seeing into the future, though. But, is Tarot the ultimate magickal tool?

A lot of magicians will say that it is, and here are some reasons why:

Tarot Is One Of The Most Specific Divination Devices

If you’ve ever evoked a spirit and tried to get answers about future events, then you know how cryptic astral entities can sometimes be!

In fact, many divination practices often leave you with more questions than answers, and require quite a bit of interpretation.

When you read the tarot, though, it is as if you are seeing a slideshow of events or situations that make up the whole reading. Each card has a very specific meaning, and each space that the card occupies also has significance. The cards also interact with one another, symbolically, so the meaning of one card can often be clarified by looking at the cards that surround it!

To add to the pinpoint accuracy of the tarot, there are many different spreads that you can use to target specific concerns, to reveal certain pieces of information, and to narrow down exact details in a tarot reading.

Sure, there’s a lot to learn, but once you have mastered the tarot, you literally will be able to know anything!

You Can Pathwork The Tarot!

If the whole 78 card tarot deck represents the Macrocosm (which it definitely does!), then each card is a unique aspect of reality, and of the Self.

Meditation, invocation, and even evocation of the powers and spirits of each card will bring the potency and the presence of that aspect of reality into full manifestation in your life and in your being.

Starting at the first card, The Fool, and working through the cards in order, I suggest spending 3 days with each card.

Day 1: Begin the day by meditating on the card, gazing at it as if it is a sigil or a gateway. Look at the card and let the images, characters, and symbols on it speak to you. Do this several times throughout the day, allowing the card itself to reveal itself to you more and more.

Day 2: At the beginning of the day, gaze at the card and open it as an astral gate. Invoke the spirit of the card into your being, allowing it to speak to you, to commune with you, and to influence you and your circumstances throughout the day. Keep the card with you, and at any point in the day if you feel that the presence has waned, simply gaze at the card for a few minutes, activating it, and filling yourself with its essence.

Day 3. Evoke the spirit of the card before you, and put it into action in your life in accordance with its attributes and powers.

How You Can Use Tarot In Ritual

If you’ve connected with your cards fully and have really mastered reading them and attuning yourself with them, using your cards in ritual will be easy… and powerful!

One way that you can do this is by giving yourself a quick reading before the ritual, so the tarot can guide you in the way to best direct your energy in the ritual. You can then read again after the ritual in order to verify a favorable outcome.

My preferred way of using the tarot in ritual, though, is this:

Select 3 cards from the deck that symbolize the final outcome that you’re trying to manifest. Use these either in place of sigils, or along with spirit sigils. This probably sounds way too easy to work, but it really does! Using the tarot in this way supercharges your rituals with symbols and energies that date back to Ancient Egypt!

Whether you’re using the tarot for divination, for pathworking, or for spellcasting, there is no doubt that it is indeed one of the best tools for any magician to have in his toolbox!

We’ll talk again soon.
