In my contribution to the Compendium of Baal, entitled: "Bael: Beyond the Flesh," I share details about my personal experience with King Bael and the gnosis I received from him, along with his instruction to share this with others.

I remember once, E.A. Koetting told me: “When you see, that you see the signs, you start to see them all the more”.

Spirit contact is no more restricted to the ritual chamber than eating is to the kitchen, or lovemaking to the bedroom. While I have contacted many spirits during ritual, with the sole intention of doing just this, I have had many experiences in which the spirit has been the one to initiate contact. This can be during the most mundane activities or an unexpected result of getting into a deep trance state of meditation. In my essay, I write about the many different (and often subtle) ways spirits can give us signs.

The signs are everywhere The question is, are you paying attention?

My experience of working with King Bael came quite unexpectedly. First, seeing the signs that alerted me to his presence. Seeing and hearing his name repeatedly, in the most unexpected contexts. I accepted the invitation to open myself to him completely, receiving gnosis during ritual and deep trance meditation. I share details of what I learned in my essay.

I talk about the importance of spiritual hygiene and the ways that a salt bath can be used as a spirit portal for receiving gnosis, under the correct circumstances. I explain the significance of water, as a spiritual tool and its significance to us as a species and the teachings of Bael.

In my contribution to the Bael Compendium, I describe my unforgettable ritual to Bael in full, the exact offerings I used and the precise words I felt compelled to speak aloud, with the hope that this will help demonstrate that the ritual need not be prescriptive or learned. It can be created - personal and spontaneous to the practitioner.

There is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to spirit communication. Just as each occultist will be different from the former and from the next, so the ritual and communication will be as unique as the Occultist him, or herself.

The gnosis I received from Bael was possibly the most in depth gnosis I’ve ever received. Perhaps because it wasn’t just meant for me, it came with the request, and instruction that the information should be shared.

So share it I do, in detail.

Bael spoke to me of the cycles of life and death, as something that ebbs and flows constantly, like a water cycle. Like the raindrop, we present, settle, rise and return, different every time. Each time having been through a new cycle, taking with us the experience, the lessons, possibly the pain.

In the weeks after I had submitted my final version of my essay to BALG, I was invited to my daughter’s class assembly. They had been learning all about the water cycle... You see, the confirmation comes in so many ways, the spirits nod to us, sometimes in the most ironic or humorous circumstances.

Bael described to me in detail the significance of the symbolism of his depiction as cat, toad, man and spider. He depicts the strategies of war against the enemy through invisibility both physical and figurative and adaptation to one’s environment to thrive. The importance of obtaining the correct weapons and maintaining personal strength and sovereignty.
