A week and a half ago I woke up feeling depressed.

I was in my bed alone, wishing I had someone to wake up to — if you did not know, I broke up with my long-time life partner recently.

I knew I needed to get work done, but I just didn’t want to. I’m sure you’ve found yourself in a similar position before.

After trying to keep myself from crying out of pure loneliness and a crushing feeling of meaninglessness, I finally got out of bed, slumped into my temple, turned on my computer, and looked at the screen.

I had so much work to do, so many people who needed me, but all I could do was stare at the computer screen and feel utterly lost.

It was like my brain just wouldn’t fire, like I didn’t have any gas in my tank and my battery was too drained to even attempt to start my system up.

I’ll be honest with you: this wasn’t the first morning like this. I’m embarrassed to admit that this was becoming a losing streak for me.

I had scheduled a phone call with a mentor of mine, whose name is ironically ‘Christian’. Christian is a spiritual healer and a channeler, even though he probably wouldn’t use those terms to describe himself. Either way, he is in touch with his own Omniscient Voice in a way that few people are, and even more impressive is that Christian has the balls to tell the truth. He isn’t afraid of me. He isn’t afraid of anybody.

Christian is a True King! I needed his help, and like a brother-in-arms, he made time to help me. Sure, he’s getting paid to use his gifts, but he does not waste his time with people who aren’t serious.

The call was scheduled for noon. I looked at the clock on the bottom-right corner of my computer. It was 11:00 AM.

Christian knows the power of ritual, and he knows that through this ancient sorcery we can take control of events, we can influence the minds of men and women, but most importantly, through ritual we can take control of ourselves.

I saw the time until our scheduled call ticking down, and I knew what I needed to do: I needed to use ritual to reset my mind, to program my reality to become what I needed it to be, and to set myself apart as the Supreme King of my existence.

I wasn’t going to get on the phone with Christian and tell this Great Man that I was too much of a little bitch to step up. I wasn’t going to talk to him and tell him that I knew what I needed to do, but I just didn’t have the courage to do it. I wasn’t going to waste his fucking time.

I waited until 11:30 to start the ritual. It would take me 15-20 minutes to complete, and then at least I could report that I had tried. Even if I still felt like shit, I could at least say I tried.

I did the ritual that I needed to do. I invoked the powers of magick and the spirits of my ancestors. I commanded reality to realign with my Will, and I commanded my perception to realign with my Purpose.

It worked!

Of course it worked. It always works. Magick always works!

But magick can only work if you use it! When Christian called me I told him what I had gone through.

“It’s noon your time, right?” he asked.

“Yeah.”

“So, we’re halfway through the day… and you haven’t gotten anything done? You haven’t executed a single thing?”

“That’s right,” I confessed.

“What’s going on here?” he pried.

I had no answer.

Christian answered his own question for me. “The first 20 minutes after waking up are the most important minutes in your day. Those first 20 minutes frame all of the events and interactions for the rest of your day. You NEED to do your ritual in the first 20 minutes, so you can tell your day what it is going to do, instead of your day telling you what to do. Your mind is not helping you. Your mind is fucking with you. You need to tell your mind what to do, and then use it to tell your day what to do. Get it?”

I asked Christian for help, and I asked him to keep me accountable, and I promised I would not waste his time. He wanted to make sure I kept my oath with him.

“Seven days!” Christian said, the words sounding like a military marching command. “For the next seven days you will perform your ritual within the first 20 minutes after you wake up. If you’re going to tell me that you don’t have time, then you need to wake up 20 minutes earlier. Got it?”

“Got it.”

He wasn’t letting me off that easy. “You need to keep yourself accountable, if you’re going to be a king. If you fail, if you don’t start your day every day with ritual for the next seven days, you need a consequence to give yourself. Something that will hurt enough to motivate you. Make it fun, but make it hurt. Be creative. Think about it, and text me within the next 2 hours to tell me what your consequence is going to be.”

He hung up and left me with full responsibility for my own existence.

I texted him back 1 hour and 55 minutes later: “If I fail I will donate $500 to my least favorite presidential candidate.”

“Now you’re getting it!” Christian replied. It’s time to step up. Take this challenge and rise as the Supreme King of your reality, or keep being a little bitch hiding behind excuses.
