I first met J.D. when he signed up for my Black Magick Bootcamp. He was already having good successes with magick and had a good foundation in both ritual and energy work before he came out here, but he needed some help unlocking deeper powers and abilities.
After 3 full days of intense ritual work, spellcasting, and multiple evocations, I took J.D. to a sacred area that very few people know about. The mountains surrounding this valley were formed from volcanic eruptions millions of years ago, leaving lava tubes and caverns where air pockets had formed while the magma cooled.
I took J.D. to one of these lava caves that has been known for generations to be an opening to the underworld. I led him into the furthest cavern and gave him his final ritual instructions: To make direct contact with the spirits that he needed to make contact with, and to channel their most powerful message.

I left J.D. with a flashlight to find his way out of the cave, and I abandoned him there, in the darkness at the mouth of the underworld.
As I waited at the cave opening for him, I heard the sound of a deep voice shouting an incoherent word roll across the sky like thunder on a cloudless day, and with it came a shockwave of energy from within the cave.
Minutes later, J.D. emerged from the cave, the conclusion of his ritual marked by the strange occurrences experienced outside of the cave.
In his hand he held a paper with a sigil drawn on it, and the work before him was to discover its powers by putting it to use.
