Unas The Devourer God Of Ancient Egypt

A beautiful, hand-illustrated chapter of the book features Unas, the Devourer God, an ancient pharaoh who is said to have attained a form of Immortality through devouring the other god of his pantheon.

Quite literally, these magicks have been present since the dawn of time, and traces of them can be found all around the world, through many great myths, some of which serve as the cornerstones of ancient civilizations. From the myth of the Anunnaki to the ancient cult of Zalmoxis, including the legend of Camazotz, our planet is teeming with predatory deities and lycanthropies, whose worship is often associated with the Quest of Immortality and the Realm of Shadows.

If the Cult of Immortality, through the process of mummification and the figure of Osiris, have played a major role in the religious life of ancient Egyptians, particulary during the Middle Kingdom, there is one pharaoh whose Vampiric nature can't be denied.

Discovery Of The Pyramid Texts

Pharaoh Unas, also known as Unis, was the last ruler of the Fifth Dynasty of Ancient Egypt, reigning from approximately 2375 to 2345 BCE. During his time as King of Egypt, Unas built the Temple of Osiris in Abydos, wich seems to indicate a particular interest that he may have for the cult of immortality as we previously described it. His reign is notable for several facts, including his construction of a pyramid complex at Saqqara and the emergence of The Pyramid Texts, a collection of religious texts carved into the walls of his tomb which hold a particulary sinister nature.

The Pyramid Texts were intended to guide and protect the pharaoh in the afterlife, and they contain a number of spells, prayers, and incantations that were believed to help the pharaoh ascend to the heavens and become one with the gods. If other kings like Amenhotep III were described as ascending to godhood after the passing of their physical vessel, the chants found in the Pyramid of Unas describe with precision the process of such transformation which is highly wamphyric in nature.

One of the most striking and controversial sections of The Pyramid Texts is known as the "Hymn of Unas." This text describes Unas as a powerful and fearsome ruler who has the ability to consume the physical matter of the gods themselves, thereby absorbing their divine power and knowledge. The Hymn chant with the passing and resurrection of the king, and his ascent to the sky with the help of Atum-Re, where he will become Osiris, through a process of vampirism during which he will devour the other gods to appropriate their essence.

Rise Of The Cult Of Unas

After the death of the Cult of Unas continued to be an important part of Egyptian religious life for centuries after his death. The pharaoh was worshiped as a god in his own right, and his cult temples were staffed by priests who performed daily rituals and ceremonies in his honor. Historical records suggest that the Cult of Unas was still active during the Middle Kingdom period, and that his cult temple at Saqqara was still in use during this time.

One of the most important aspects of the Cult of Unas was the belief that the pharaoh continued to exist in the afterlife and could provide protection and guidance to his followers. To honor and appease the deified king, people would make offerings to his cult temples, including food and drink. These offerings were intended to sustain the pharaoh's spirit and ensure his continued favor toward the living. Such process can be found in every vampiric strains, with living adepts feeding their with the energy produces by magickal practices such as chants, dances, and sacrifices. Each of this acts contain a loss of Lifeforce for the one who practice it, from wich the Undeads will feed. In exchange, they will deliver different types of blessings with those whom celebrate their glory.

The Cult of Unas also involved the performance of various rituals and ceremonies designed to ensure the continued prosperity and well-being of Egypt and its people. The Cult of Unas included every regular form of religious act destined to honour the Pharaoh. It is highly probable that among this followers, He may have chose initiates of his own to join with him in eternity.
