I first learned of Azazel through my strict religious upbringing when my parents forced me to study in Hebrew school, which drilled extensive knowledge of Hebrew, Judaism, and orthodox Abrahamic tradition into me. Their dogmatic hatred of spirits and "demons" that Middle Eastern people had once venerated, had robbed me of a healthy introduction to him. They falsely masked and slandered him in their toxic holy books, hiding the incredible insights that I would find in his mythology through my experiences years later as an occultist.
However, despite their aggressive indoctrination, I found new uses of my knowledge of Hebrew and utilized it to unlock etymological secrets in demonological grimoires that others could not. Over time, I became openly blasphemous with my study of black magick which caused disruption in my family. I essentially lived two disparate lives, and learned that this contrast in ideologies and polarities are all important ingredients to harnessing the power of our magical pursuits. As a lonely, abandoned young woman, I reconfigured my entire spiritual outlook.

Of all the many demons I have worked with, Azazel has proven yet again to be one of the most challenging and beneficial spirits in terms of accelerating my esoteric knowledge and perceptions of reality. When I began invoking Azazel years ago, his presence has never left my side. With each new venture I was to learn the burden that gnosis bestows upon humanity. One of the most important things I have realized is that nothing worthwhile is simple. If it were easy, these dark mysteries would be accessible to all, yet they are left in the shadows for those who are brave enough to embrace them.
There are layers of ordeals and of joy which envelop us to compose a life of magnitude. If one wishes to achieve a life of extraordinary nature and achieve things beyond the confines of our paths, there must be a catalyst to destroy such limitations. The way out is often through struggles and hardships, yet those things are a blessing in disguise. The ability to not permit such ordeals to truly harm one’s self is part of the lessons I have learned through Azazel.
What Azazel has shown me is that it is okay to carry the weight of our sins and the transgressions of others for a temporary period to absorb and change the energy into a beneficial force. That pain is malleable and temporary - for it is transmuted into strength through Azazel’s alchemy. If we can harness the power of the world’s suffering, we can by its very existence see the opposite and manifest that. The nature of polarities is key to understanding the forces at play within each side, to learn and grow through darkness and light. As empathic creatures, we often can be overwhelmed by such sensations and Azazel has uplifted me beyond that state.
