Subject: 🌴Coin Collecting Update - New Bluey $2 Coins 🐕 - Everything You Need To Know...

New Bluey Coins Next Week...

AustraliaCoins.org

Hey Friend

As you may have heard, Australia Post and the Royal Australian Mint (RAM) are releasing a new Bluey Coin promotion next week (Wednesday 6th of May).

This set is likely to be very popular for two reasons:
1. It's got the Bluey theme 🐕, and
2. It's the first Bluey coin promotion with Two Dollar coins.

Please note - I'm not trying to add to the hype, but I wanted to let you know about it in case you need it for your collection (or if you have kids who 'need it' 😉). I've also had a few people email me asking for clarity on the various coins.

That said, I've noticed a few things that have concerned me, so I have added some warnings below to help you avoid getting caught out or ripped off. So, here are the details of the promotion as I understand it...

The Coins...
There are eight different coin designs in total (all Two Dollar coins):

1. The first five coins are sold in a tube.
- These five coins are NOT coloured, but there is the usual one-in-ten chance of finding a coloured version of one coin.
- This image (courtesy of the RAM) shows the 5 'Tube coins':

2. Then there are two coloured Two Dollar coins going into the cash registers at Australia Post.
- You can get these two coins in change when you pay with cash during the promotion period.
- There are no images of what these coins will look like yet.

3. Finally, there is also a coloured proof coin.
- They haven't revealed this coin yet either, but I gather that the design on this proof coin is different to all the other coins.

The Various Products...
The promotion is similar to previous Australia Post promotions. Here's how I understand it will work:
1. There is a tube you can buy for $34
- The tube has five uncirculated coins (They are non-coloured Two Dollar coins)
- One-in-ten of the tubes has a special coloured version of the 'Sleepytime' coin.
- The two circulation coins are NOT included in the tube.
- The tube comes with a folder to store the coins.
- The folder has places for seven coins (even though the two circulation coins are not included in the tube).

2. You can buy the five coins that come in the tube individually (with a privy mark) for $20 each.
- These coins have the same design as the five coins in the tube, except with a 'star' privy mark.

3. The coloured proof coin is $60 (or $115 for the Silver Proof coin).

4. You can find the two circulated coins in change (ie at face value) when you buy something from Australia Post during the promotion (starting May 6).
- Both circulation coins are coloured.

5. There are two PNCs with the "circulation" coins for $27 each.

Warnings:
1. As always, there are people trying to pre-sell the coins at crazy prices. What concerns me this time is that I've seen people trying to encourage others to pre-purchase at crazy prices to guarantee getting the coins.

However, the people selling these pre-sales are relying on getting a certain number of tubes, and often cancel orders at the last minute (for a variety of reasons). So if you're not buying from Australia Post or the Royal Australian Mint, make sure you're buying from someone you trust!

2. The RAM is doing a ballot for this release (starting Monday). You can also (potentially) buy the coins from most post offices on the day of release and also the Aus Post website. However, I say 'potentially' because if last time is anything to go by, it could be chaotic at post offices (especially with coloured Two Dollar coins involved)!

So, if you have a local post office that you normally buy coins from, this week is a good time to ask them if they'll have items you're after.

Good hunting!

Cheers
Damian
